ART $2000 - $3000

Mother and Child in Park (30"x24")
$2900
Reveals the dramatic human bonding of mother, child, and nature, as if each of those ideas are joined as one. The richly layered glass effect allows the viewer to see deeply an imagined story of human connection and origin.

The Journey Home (24"x36")
$2500
Reveals the dramatic human bonding of mother, child, and nature, as if each of those ideas are joined as one. The richly layered glass effect allows the viewer to see deeply an imagined story of human connection and origin.

The Cloud Dwellers (36"x36")
$2500
An artistic, unworldly person whose head is "in the clouds" describes my artist personality, a way of being, not a chosen path...a preordained journey full of mysteries and surprises, sacrifices and suffering.

The Flower Arrangers (36"x36")
$2000
These mystical creatures live in a dreamish "fairy-like" atmosphere of fun weaving their floral magic.

The Beach Comber (36"x36")

The Dancer in Green (36"x36")
$2700
A tribute to dance and dancers, a dance of life and all of the human drama that it entails.

The Park Bench (36"x48")
$2800
A strange and ethereal drama of love and life - two souls co-existing in the same space yet so very far apart are their realities and lives.

Ghost World (36" x 36")
$2950
As life can feel to me so profoundly haunted, filled with memories that flow through me awake and asleep...of those both living and passed... I must learn to make peace, in a reality where I occupy both an existential confusing present while struggling as an artist to create in a dimension where I must accept the uninvited spirits who come to play...drifting into my creative process, guiding my my mind and very hand, brush...paints...to a finishing point where I awake to view a completed work of art I can hardly recall making.
Creating artwork can be a very weird and confusing experience for me.

Odoodem (48"x36")
$2700
Odoodem is an Algonquian word for totem, “his kinship group” describing a family or a clan.
Totem commemorate ancestry, histories, people, or events and is this regard are comparable to a family coat of arms. Totems can signify beings, or spiritual animals, a family's lineage to validate the status a family (or tribe) held. I had the honour to observe totem carvers at work while visiting Haida Gwaii. In my depiction they are strange spirits existing in primordial rainforests.

Water Music (36"x24")
$2700
Among my favorite classical works is Handel's Water Music. This unusual figure appeared as Handel's music floated in my mind.
This manifestation can be seen as a metaphor of our connection to earth, to water, we are composed mostly of water. Our existence is possible because of water.
The dissolving image might suggest our natural processes, that we exist because of water, and will return to water as we recycle back into the soil.

In The Eye of the Hurricane (36"x36")
$2200
The storms that circle us all offer a moment of peace and calm, when we enter eye of that storm.
For each of us that experience is very different.

Pantheon (36"x36")
$2200
Chiselled immortals, deeply textured and layered, mysterious figures coalesce into a "pantheon" of ritual and individual drama.

Queen of the Seas (36"x48")
$2700
A glowing figure of liquid colour, glowing with peace and presenting a welcoming gesture to the viewer, inviting them into another world.
As we are made of water, we shall return to water.

A Scream (36"x24")
$2700
That moment where we express a deep, ancient "animalistic" scream.

Heartland (36"x36")
$2200
Heartland, a universal physical idea of place and "home" while also a metaphysical expression to represent the "beating heart" of what is essential for our happiness and even life itself.
Is it even possible for a painting to express this special experience of human existence?

Transiting (36"x48")
$2200
Of human journeys...where do we come from...where do we go...?
This existential experience is a gravity that binds us to an unknowable fate, where the constant of time pulls us into fates I think of as "transiting"...movement from dimension to dimension, a cycle that cannot be slowed or stopped or comprehended, except for what is clearly evident...we are always in motion as this transiting process continues in its never-ending cycle.
We meet, we know each other, but our singular journey leads us away to stations unknown.

Conquest and Submission (36"x36")
$2900
First there was conquest.
Submission followed for those who wished to continue living. Thus is the cruel and ignoble history of the human species.

Slipping Away (36"x36")
$2900
Slipping Away...a fading away, loss of control, the speeding away of memory, minds, lost souls and loved ones.
Slipping Away is an acknowledgement that we and everything slips away finally, be it memories, people, health, life. Nevertheless it is in our nature to struggle against that inevitable fate.
An inspiration for me is this amazing music:

An Elegy for Mother Earth (36x36)
$2900
Is it only artists that can see very plainly, our host "Mother Earth" is dying...? That which provides us with a livable environment...as a human viral contagion squeezes and extracts the last once of all the life sustaining resources.
The ecological grief screams to me.

Winterlove (24" x 36")
$2100
As a winterborn child I'm always daydreaming...of childhood memories of blizzards, snow forts, skiing through snow-covered trees, lungs burning with fresh icey air, feeling inspired by the wildness and beauty of nature.
That is one kind of winter love.

Washed Up (36"x36")
$3000
When the best years seem to be in the past. A sense of failure, irrelevance, implying a loss of effectiveness, feelings of obsolescence or exhaustion.

Worlds Away (30"x40")
$3000
Feeling worlds away is that universal experience of needing to be closer, more connected and engaged, and yet feeling distant from others, and perhaps distant from our true ourselves.
Everything and everyone around us can feel impossibly distant and "worlds away.
